Whether it’s a mini escape at the end of a hectic day or you need to get out of town for a few days, nothing says escape like a road trip and watching the trees as you zoom by.
What it would look like just as a JPEG without editing….
And the bottom is the HDR. See the difference? Yes HDR is really for nice landscaping or portraiture but this a technique new to me and I didn’t want to wait to try it out. In case you’re wondering, HDR stands for high-dynamic-range and it’s a technique utilizing 3-5 different exposures to get a better quality of picture. There are several tutorials on how to do this. There are several types of photo editing software for this available in various price ranges too. This was done just with with CS6. I didn’t feel the need to add that “surreal” filter that makes the photo a little dreamy looking. I wanted to try it just to see if it works with this and will try it on some landscaping here in the next week or so. Not sure how I feel about the different effects, I think I prefer the realistic look myself.
